At Kingsway, to speak about wellbeing means embracing the biblical concept of shalom — the ancient Hebrew word for “wholeness.” Wellbeing at Kingsway is a shared journey for our entire College community, not just students and staff. We see it as a continuous restoration of wholeness in our relationships with God, with one another, and with creation.
A Christ-Centred Vision of Wellbeing
We believe all people are designed to be in relationship with God. A faith community grounded in Christian truth enhances wellbeing through spiritual practices that nourish the soul. As highlighted in The Anxious Generation byJonathan Haidt, research shows that spiritual disciplines have a significant positive impact on wellbeing.
We also believe in healthy relationships with others — including the way we relate to ourselves. Our College Values affirm the importance of integrity, service, collaboration and transformation in these relationships.
Our Christian worldview teaches us to care for God’s creation. We see our role not only as stewards of the environment but also as developers of a flourishing world.
