Governance

Kingsway Christian College is governed by the Board of Kingsway Christian Education Association (KCEA) Inc. The KCEA Board consists of up to 12 elected members of the Association with responsibility for exercising all the powers of the Association in the operation of the College. The Board meets regularly and has a number of committees that service the Board. The responsibilities of the Board include:
  • Ensuring that the College remains true to its Mission, Strategic Plan, Policies and Values.
  • Appointing the Principal and monitoring his/her performance and the College’s educational standards.
  • Ensuring that the College meets its legal and regulatory requirements.
  • The development and monitoring of Board Policies.
  • Ensuring the College’s physical facilities are constantly updated.
  • Planning for the future to ensure the College’s sustainability and continued success.

Meet our Board

Elected 2023

Rex and Lizette have two, energetic children, both of whom have attended Kingsway since Kindergarten.

Rex is a practicing Chartered Engineer, primarily working in the resources and utilities sectors in Perth since immigrating in 2006. Rex brings skills in management, risk management and strategic planning and currently serves as a member on the Master Planning Committee.

Elected 2019

Zaun is married to Michelle and they have two children who have both started attended Kingsway in 2013. One is still in the Secondary school.

He is the Managing Director and co-owner of an IT Consulting firm with over 20 staff that for 15 years has been helping mid-sized companies throughout WA with technology strategy, security, support and advice.

For 5 years Zaun also acted as a Facilitator and Advisory Board Member for a global IT peer group which he helped launch and expand into Australia from the United States.

Recently through the WA Leaders programme, Zaun has been in the role of Industry Expert and Mentor in the Technology field assisting growth companies achieve their business goals. In addition, he also serves as Chairman and Board Member for a not-for-profit providing workplace chaplaincy services and business mentoring from a Christian values perspective.

Zaun brings strengths in technology leadership, digital strategy, cyber risk and business planning.

Elected 2022

Chris Schoeman is an Associate Director and part owner at a specialist tax firm in the Perth CBD. Chris is a former student of the College and two of his three children attend the College now. Chris has a long history of service to his profession sitting on the public practice panel as well as regional council for Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand where he was awarded fellowship for his tenure of service. He is currently serving as the Association’s Treasurer and has been on the board for 3 years.

Chris brings a range of skills including project costing, financial risk analysis and forecasting.

Leila and Chris have two boys enrolled at the College since Kindergarten.

Leila brings more than 15 years of experience working with technology companies on strategy, execution and leadership across APAC.

Leila brings skills in human resource management, technology and strategic leadership and currently serves as a member of the Governance Committee. 

 

Rachel and her husband Cameron’s children attend the College, with one already graduated. They have been a part of the school community since 2012 after relocating to Perth from Melbourne.

Rachel has previously worked as a Secondary teacher, has completed her Masters in Business Administration and, after some time as a school parent not in paid employment, is now working in the resources sector.

Rachel is currently serving as a member of the Educational Standards Committee.

 

Martin and Nina have one child who has been enrolled at the College since Kindergarten.

Martin has practiced as a social worker and mental health professional in various settings in public sector mental health services for 17 years, of which the last 11 years have been in adolescent and youth programs.

Martin brings with him tactfulness and curiosity, as well as skills in written communication, working with complexity, and mental health risk assessment and management.

Martin currently serves as a member of the Education Standards Committee.
