Hospitality Students Serve at Soup Kitchen

For the second year in a row, Kingsway Christian College Hospitality students areSoup Kitchen-best-christian-schools-kingsway-christian-college (2) involved in partnership with Girrawheen Rainbow Community Church.
Every Thursday the church feeds the disadvantaged via a soup kitchen. Our students are using produce from major food outlets that is nearly out of code and turning that produce into soup, meals and desserts. Every Thursday a group of three students and Mr Anton Zulch, our Café Manager serve the local community of 60-80 people with the food. The City of Wanneroo has two vegetable gardens at the Community Centre and students are also using fresh herbs and vegetables from these beds to garnish the meals
This opportunity is a big eye-opener for the students, mixing and meeting with refugees, young families, unemployed and disadvantaged. The students learn practical skills through hospitality and more importantly about Christian service and God’s love and care of all people.
