Primary Opti-MINDS Team wins Award

by Alison Young | Sep 13, 2019

2019 is our first year where Kingsway Primary has participated in Opti-MINDS Creative Sustainability Challenge.  The event is where teams of up to seven students are required to solve demanding, open-ended challenges in one of the following disciplines: Language Literature, Science Engineering and Social Sciences.  We entered three primary teams this year, one in each discipline (20 Students in total). Our teams had six weeks to prepare for their Long Term Challenge where at the Regional Finals they would present their solution in a 10 minute dramatic presentation to a panel of judges at Curtin University. In addition to the above challenge, all teams are issued a “Spontaneous Challenge” on the day of the Regional Final. Here they are allowed four minutes to prepare and up to one minute to present their solution.

Congratulations to our Language Literacy Team who were 2019 Regional Honours Recipients. This is a fantastic achievement and inspires us even more to return again next year. Bring on 2020.
