On Tuesday 22nd August 2017, sixteen players from Kingsway Years 4-6 competed in the IPSHA Chess Day held at St Marks Anglican Community School. There were one hundred and eighty eight students playing ten games of Chess. The top eight players were chosen to compete in the semi-finals which included two of our students, Nick Ley of Year 6 and Celine Ong of Year 5.
Celine made it into the finals which she won and then into the grand final where she was awarded Grand Champion of the day.
All the Kingsway players did their best and had a great day playing chess and interacting with students from the other schools.
