Dance before the Lord with all your might. 2 Samuel 6:14
From 2018 Dance was offered as an elective subject at the College from Year 7-11 with a fully equipped dance studio in our new Auditorium. In 2019 onwards, Dance will be on offer from Year 7-12.
We were created by God to move and respond to a rhythm, and to freely express our unique essence. The artistry of Dance reflects God’s glory, beauty and relentless love. Dance is worship that celebrates and gives delight and joy; Dance can be a prayer, a conversation or an intercession in season from God’s heart; and Dance can bring freedom through expression of God given talent.
Dance is dynamic and powerful. Dance is expressive movement with purpose and form. It embodies our ideas, thoughts, emotions and values and provides a unique opportunity to develop physically, creatively, aesthetically, emotionally and intellectually. People have always danced, and dance continues to evolve. As an art form, dance encourages artistic creativity and the active use of the imagination.
Through Dance at Kingsway Christian College, students represent, question and celebrate human experience, using movement as the medium for personal, social, emotional, physical and cultural communication. Students actively participate as dancers in performances; as choreographers expressing their own creativity; and as audiences viewing professional performances, promoting wellbeing and social inclusion.
