Kingsway Christian College recognises the need to engage students in learning programmes that are structured to stimulate and challenge students in their middle years of schooling. In 2009 our Year 7 students became part of a very vibrant Lower Secondary school programme that aims to engage students in learning through quality educational experiences.

Kingsway Christian College does not separate students into a Lower Secondary campus. The programme and classroom location allows interaction between our Lower and Upper Secondary students. We believe that a positive school experience during the Years 7 - 9 will help students remain focused on their learning.

Students will engage in English, Mathematics, Science and Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) for 6 periods per week in each area. Complimenting this programme is a Christian Life Studies Course which will flow through to Senior Secondary years. An opportunity to engage in Arts, Technology and Enterprise, Health and Physical Education and Languages is also an essential part of our Lower Secondary programme.

Learning opportunities will be differentiated to meet the needs of a variety of learners and assessment practices will reflect this approach. Students who require extension will be streamed according to ability and continued support will be offered to students who experience difficulty.

Head of Students

In our Secondary School, each section of the College is headed up by a Head of Students who looks after the Pastoral Care of Students. This includes monitoring student behaviour as well as providing opportunities for social engagement. The Head of Students for Years 7 and 8 is Mr Dave Ruck and Year 9 and 10  is Mr Matt Elliot.

By physically locating students amongst our Senior School we are able to provide mentoring of younger students.
