The Atrium Room in the Auditorium was the venue for the second Connect event for the year which featured 1999 graduate, Paul Whitby. Paul is currently the Head of Physical Education, having worked at the College for over 10 years. He graduated in 1999 and has been on the Sydney-Canberra trip both as a student and teacher. Paul is also the father of Lincoln and Abigail who attend our Primary school. Therefore, he was able to share great insights into the Kingsway values and culture and he spoke from the heart about how his relationships formed at school with teachers and students shaped his life in many ways.
Talented alumna, Sabrina Gomes gave a breathtaking rendition of the Crowded House hit ‘Don't Dream It's Over.’ The alumni in attendance briefly introduced themselves, including three currently on staff. College Captain Caleb Stevens and Vice-Captain Leah Chester-Browne prayed and read bible verses relating to Paul’s chosen Kingsway value of ‘relationships’. There were several prize draws, including two from Warwick Workout, located at Warwick Leisure Centre. The Year 11 & 12 Hospitality students had arrived bright and early to ensure the food was at its best and they served delicious food and barista coffee whilst we all connected. We look forward to the final Kingsway Connect event for the year on Fri 20th September with guest speaker 1994 graduate Tim Brewer.
