The 2019 Secondary Easter Service was held on 3rd April and was a powerful event
speaking to many about the Easter message of what Jesus did on the cross.
Mr Burton welcomed everyone and opened the event in prayer. This was followed by two song items from the Worship Band ‘Holy One of God’ and ‘I See the Lord’. Our Bible readers were Tabatha Scholtz and Connor Wolff of Year 10.
The Drama Presentation, ‘The Trial’ had an expanded cast with strong use of chorus, powerful dialogue and movement to convey the active role of not only the leaders of the day in Jesus’ torture and execution but also the role of everyday man and those who loved Him but stood silent. The performance spoke to all of Jesus’ triumph over death, shame and grief as well as His courage and compassion for us.
Guest speaker, Josh Fernandez of GraceLife church spoke engagingly tying in his proposal to his wife and how it changed his life to Christ’s passion for us and how committing to Him at any age can change our lives. He used 2 Corinthians 5 verses 14-15 as his foundational scripture.
Mr Irvine led Communion whilst Ms Khoo played a wonderful medley of songs on the harp. This was followed by the Dance piece entitled ‘Here I Bow’ the lyrics of which encouraged us to trust God and His love for us in our life story.
The event concluded with tea and hot cross buns served in the foyer by our Hospitality students.
