On Tuesday 7th August, the Kingsway Christian College Chess club, comprised of sixteen members ranging from Years 3 – 6 attended the Independent Primary School Heads’ Association (IPSHA) Chess Day at St Mark’s Anglican College.
It was a great success with 16 schools and approximately 200 students taking part – the largest chess competition in Western Australia. Each school had between 8-16 players from Years 3 to 6
, who played 10 games in total throughout the day in competition against other schools. Semi and grand finals were also played and the winner was an outstanding student from Regent College.
Kingsway College came in an overall second in the competition, with Celine Ong managing to place third. Well done Celine!
