The Council of Australian Governments (COAG), as part of its International Student Strategy for Australia, announced on 20 April 2010 that one of the initiatives was a requirement for Student visa applicants to obtain Overseas Students Health Cover (OSHC) for the proposed duration of their visa prior to visa grant.
Under current policy student visa applicants must demonstrate that they have12 months of OSHC prior to a visa being granted.
From 1 July 2010 students have needed to obtain OSHC for the proposed duration of their Student visa. Please note that Kingsway Christian College does not arrange health cover here as students (or their agents) are required to make their own arrangements directly with the insurance companies.
