Exciting New Certificate III in Hospitality Launches in 2018

From 2018, the College is excited to offer a Hospitality Programme leading to a Certificate III in Hospitality delivered as a school based traineeship running over Year 11 and 12 for a total of seven terms.
Each student enrolled will be supplied with an Apple iPad and becomes an employee of the College, paid for 7.5 hours of work per week in the College Café (formerly known as the Canteen), with the option of doing extra work out of hours at events at the College. A combination of practical and theory will make up the course content. The students will be mentored by qualified chefs/trainers who are on site each day and work in conjunction with teaching staff.
Students will do one week in every four in the café for preparation, service and cleaning and this VET course will contribute to WACE but is not offered as an ATAR course.
Statistics for this programme show that 62% of trainees who complete the course continue to work in the industry. The student is able to earn money within school hours while learning which eliminates the need for them to work weekends and late nights
