On Friday, 24th October, the Primary Choir, directed by Mrs Sharon Davis, walked over to the neighbouring Brightwater Madeley Retirement Village to share a range of songs that they had been working on this year and to give out floral bouquets which came from the gardens of Kingsway families and were made into colourful bouquets by members of the P&F.
Our students were warmly welcomed at the aged care facility as this is an ongoing community outreach. The songs chosen and the choir’s performance were outstanding, and it was clearly evident that all who had the pleasure of watching thought the same. The audience enjoyed a delightful song about a Lizard in a lunchbox and a rousing version of “Joshua Fought the Battle of Jericho”. Thanks go to Mrs Celesti Weck who accompanied the choir on the keyboard. At the end of the performance the choir members were delighted to be able to give out flowers and interact with some of the residents.
It was a special time of encouragement and a highlight of the year in being a blessing to the community that surrounds our school!
