Kingsway Tops WA in Maths Championship

by Alison Young | Aug 15, 2014

In July, New Zealand company, Education Perfect, launched its first ever International Maths Championship. Eager Maths students in Years 7, and 9 applied themselves enthusiastically to solve the interactive problems in geometry, algebra, probability, percentages and more. Each correct answer earns them points and as the points stacked up for individual students they became eligible for certificates and prizes depending on the number of points they have won.
Kingsway Christian College beat off strong competition from prestigious WA schools to take out the top prize of being the highest scoring school in WA competing against 221 WA schools. This is a quite an achievement and the students are to be commended for their hard work. Altogether Kingsway students have earned 56 certificates, 6 Gold, 11 Silver, 16 bronze and 23 credits.
Particular congratulations to Dillon Casinader, Year 8 Gold award winner, Hendrick Delport, Faith Chang and Hannah Davies, our Year 9 Gold award winners and to Micah Chang and Steven Chen, Year 7 Gold award winners.
Beyond WA, Kingsway was third in Australia out of 586 schools and globally Kingsway was 4th out of 806 schools.

Well done Kingsway Maths champions!
