As a part of their coursework studies in the context of reality television, the Year 12 Media Class of 2016 produced a satirical TV segment, appropriately titled Disaster Chef. The task required each student to create a stereotypical reality TV contestant type to integrate into an original script. Taking turns scripting, directing, acting, filming and editing enabled everyone to extend their production skills and collaborate to produce the show. Along with creating the look of the show, each student contributed to cooking their disastrous concoctions, and there were some classic tastings. The production was far from a disaster, it contained all the ingredients of the classic recipe of a reality television cooking show.
