Once again we celebrated Open Night on a September spring evening. It was a whole College special event at which our community celebrated students’ work whilst reflecting on our many blessings.
Classrooms in the Primary each had a display. There were plenty of activities for children to enjoy including dinosaur rides, an animal farm and a merry-go-round.
The Secondary faculties each had a display of their learning area and the Science experiments were once again hugely popular. The whole school Art Exhibition in the new Auditorium foyer displayed a colourful array of artwork from all year groups. The Music department put on a series of performances every half hour in the Auditorium and outside the Primary Music room as well as buskers playing at various times.
The Golf Academy offered a chance to compete in a putting competition and the Phys. Ed department offered a shooting competition and a rowing and grip strength challenge.
Families relished the food on offer on the oval and at sausage sizzle stations and bought up the huge selection of home-made cakes as well as listening to the wonderful live music.
The oval was filled with excited chatter with all age groups mingling to create a vibrant atmosphere. Visitors included families from our own community as well as prospective families who took the opportunity to tour the College and see all that was on offer, with the new Auditorium being a big drawcard. The harmonious community spirit was tangible.
“The aim of the night was to celebrate God’s blessings in our community” said College Principal Peter Burton. Many parents have expressed their gratitude for the sense of community and the amount of work that staff put into the night.
