On the 21st March 2013 Kingsway Christian College held a dedication event for its new facilities. The project consists of a new Science block with six laboratories, office and preparation area, a new Media classroom and a refurbishment of the Home Economics facilities.
The College was privileged to have WA’s Chief Scientist, Professor Lyn Beazley, cutting the ribbon to officially open the amenities, assisted by Mr Richard Sullivan Board Chair of the College. Guests and dignitaries were treated to some delightful jazz music performed by students in the open air on a glorious autumn afternoon. Staff and members of the building project team were individually thanked and presented with gifts. After the ceremony guests were invited to tour the facilities where they met members of the Science and Home Economics departments and then proceeded to have afternoon tea and mingle.
College Principal Mr Peter Burton said “The opening ceremony was an opportunity to thank God for the growth of the College and also to thank the many people who worked tirelessly to ensure that the new amenities were built in a timely manner for the benefit of our students.”
